This notice explains what we do with the personal information you give us through this website. It is written for Keppel Construction 88, a partnership based in Chapeltown, Sheffield.

(1) Who is responsible for your information

Keppel Construction 88 is a partnership, and its partners are the data controller for the information described here — they decide why it is collected and how it is used. In this notice "we", "us" and "our" refer to that partnership.

Anthony Hart is a partner and your point of contact for anything to do with your information.

We are a small business and do not have a data protection officer. The names of the partners are available on request.

(2) What we collect

If you use the contact form, we receive:

(a) your name;

(b) your email address;

(c) your telephone number, if you choose to give it;

(d) a subject line, if you choose to give one; and

(e) the message you write.

Our hosting and delivery provider, Cloudflare, records information about each request to the site: the IP address it came from, the time, the page requested, the page you came from, and the browser, operating system and approximate country that your request reports. This is ordinary server log data. There is no tracking script, no cookie and no profiling, and we do not build up a picture of individual visitors or combine these logs with anything you send us through the contact form.

We use it to keep the site secure, available and fast, to investigate faults and abuse, and to see in aggregate which pages are used. Because an IP address can identify a connection, we treat this information as personal data: it is held by Cloudflare on our behalf for a limited period, and it is not used to contact or identify you.

We collect nothing else through this website. We do not use analytics, advertising or social media trackers, and we do not buy or rent contact lists.

(3) Why we use it, and on what basis

We use the details you send us to reply to your enquiry: to answer your questions, arrange a visit, and prepare a quotation or carry out work if you decide to go ahead.

Our lawful basis for this is our legitimate interests in responding to enquiries about our services (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). Where you go on to instruct us, we also process your details to take steps towards, and to perform, our contract with you (Article 6(1)(b)).

Our legitimate interest is simply being able to answer people who contact us about building work. We use your information only for that purpose, and we keep it for a limited time (see section 7).

We do not use your details for marketing, we do not profile you, and we never make automated decisions about you.

(4) Who we share it with

We do not sell or rent your information, and we do not pass it to advertisers.

The only organisations involved in handling an enquiry are the services that deliver it to us:

(a) Web3Forms, which receives the form submission from the website and forwards it to our email inbox; and

(b) our email provider, which receives the forwarded message and stores it so that we can read and reply to it.

Both act on our instructions as our data processors. Our website is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes technical request data on our behalf in the same way.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or where we need to establish, exercise or defend our legal rights.

(5) Sending information outside the UK

These providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on the safeguards that UK data protection law requires for international transfers, and we use providers that offer appropriate protections.

(6) How we keep it safe

This website is served over an encrypted connection. We take reasonable technical and organisational precautions to protect the information you send us, and we limit who can see it.

No system can be completely secure, and information sent over the internet is sent at your own risk.

(7) How long we keep it

If an enquiry does not lead to work, we delete it after 12 months.

If you become a customer, we keep your details as part of the job record for as long as we need them for warranties and for our accounting and tax obligations.

(8) Cookies and tracking

This website does not set cookies. We do not use web analytics, advertising pixels, social media trackers or any other form of visitor tracking, which is why you are not asked to accept cookies when you visit. Any statistics we see about visits come from the server logs described in section 2, not from a tracking script or a cookie.

Our contact page offers a Google Maps map. It is not loaded unless you click the button to show it, so nothing is requested from Google while you simply read the page. If you do choose to show the map, Google may set its own cookies, which we do not control; our address is in section 1 if you would rather not.

(9) Your rights

You have the right to:

(a) ask for a copy of the information we hold about you;

(b) have inaccurate information corrected;

(c) have your information deleted;

(d) ask us to restrict or stop using it;

(e) object to our use of it; and

(f) receive it in a portable format.

Email thart@keppelconstruction88.co.uk to exercise any of these. There is no charge, and we will respond within one month. If we cannot do what you ask, we will explain why.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so that we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

(10) Do you have to give us your information?

No. You are never obliged to use the contact form. But if you do not give us at least a name, an email address and a message, we cannot reply to your enquiry.

(11) Changes to this notice

If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and the date at the top. We will not use information you have already sent us for a new purpose without telling you first.
